Night Vision CHEAP!
Let me start off by saying I was pretty skeptical that a Night Vision product this inexpensive would be any good. I was soooo very wrong, these goggles work well and are a blast, Im sure my nephew will get a kick out of them. Easy to use easy to operate and seemingly durable. The only draw back batteries, you have to ensure you use fresh fully charged batteries or they won't work, otherwise great night vision fun.

Awesomely Fun and Cool
These goggles are awesome!

The body seems durable enough, but wouldn't take a hard beating. The screen is very nice, but doesn't allow a very wide field of view. Actually, it's very narrow. The "glow" from the high-powered LEDs around the camera is very dim, barely noticable.
I did not experience any disorientation from the camera being centered and the viewfinder over my right eye.
It has great range, but makes it hard to navigate.
The goggles are comfortable to wear and virtually seal light in and out.
They are lightweight, lighter than I expected!

The night vision part is great, but the field of view is pretty bad (horrible). If you are looking for a professional system that will allow you to navigate with ease, these are not for you.

All in all, these are a great buy. Check your local Target for a lower price.

Have fun, and "Bring on the Dark!"

Good for Rat Hunting
These "night vision" goggles aren't good for much, you can't walk around with them on (you'll trip or walk into something), they're not too powerful (you can't really see much with them on), BUT THEY'RE GOOD FOR RAT HUNTING. I just came back from the best night of ratting in my life (out of countless hunts). I killed 13 rats (I live on a farm) in under an hour (make sure you have a laser sight). With these goggles, spotting living things is quite easy, because their eyes glow. I wouldn't recommend this for kids, it's the sort of thing they'll use once and than leave in the closet, but if you like kill rats, this is it.

An Antiquated Rocket for Flight Photography
The Estes Astrocam is a fairly easy rocket to build and fly. It requires some gluing, assembly, and fixing of decals. I suppose the whole process takes 2 hours or so.

The camera is mounted on the nosecone and is a fixed focus lens. It takes 110 film, which in the digital age is a real pain to find and process. This is the major drawback of this rocket - the 100 film.
I have had multiple problems loading the film, getting the film to advance, and problems with the camera itself. I do not recommend this rocket camera any longer.

The 110 film format has a tiny negative, so standard enlargements of your astrophotos are not feasible beyond a 4x5 picture. The pictures (if you get a roll of 110 film to work in the camera) tend to be blurry and are overall disappointing.

Adding photography to rocketry is a fun and worthwhile addition to this interesting hobby, but this rocket IS NOT the place to start!

Good time bird if the price is right
If you have an interest in airborne photography, this is a good place to start. Follow the directions and it's possible that you'll wind up with some recognizable pictures of the field you launch on. Uses 110 film, which can be a little expensive to develop these days, but if you can find the film and the rocket cheap it helps soften the blow.

Not worth the price.
This toy should cost no more than 5 or 6 bucks. Anything under that would make it worth it. The track is a circle and about a foot in length ....and it has two little pull back cars (Lightning and Sally)that hardly make it around before they stop or flip off the track. And a cardboard cut out of something that we also threw out. It also has side rails snapped on that keep popping off. My 3 year old played with it a couple times as a race track but would rather take the track apart and fling balls accross the kitchen floor with the track peices. Bottem line is it would be cute and worth it for 4 or 5 bucks.

Flimsy Flop
It looks like it will be a great product, but it is flimsy and low-quality. My son played with it once since Christmas 3 weeks ago. The tiny cars are pull back and go once around the track if lucky. That's it. That is the whole toy. My son loves Cars and this was a flop with him.

Small portable Racetrack
I purchased the Pixar Cars Race and Chase set as a last minute addition to my 3 year old son's Christmas gifts. I got the set on sale for around $5 and for this amount it is a great value. I would say it is not worth over $10. Anyway, the set came with a tiny pull back Lightning McQueen and a tiny pull back Sally race car, and 4 pieces of track that snap together in a 12 inch circle. There was a cardboard background too, but it was really cheap looking and we just threw it out. I'm surprised at how much my son has played with this toy already - I like the fact that it is small enough to throw in a tote to take to Grandma's house.

Great beginner slide set
I purchased this slide set for my 8-year old daughter and she loves it. She has spent alot of time using it. There is a nice assortment of specimens. She is now looking forward to making her own slides. I just asked her how she likes it and she says that "I recommend them for kids who are interested in science or tiny squashed up bugs". Of course they are glass and should be handled with some care.

Microscope slides
These are great! I am glad that we spent the extra money to get these when we decided to purchase the microscope! It was nice to have some premade slides where my son could immediately view insects and other things. I mean, we are in the dead of winter so bugs and pollen and things like that are scarce right now. He will be taking one of these slides along with his microscope to school for show and tell! Very good way to get them introduced and excited about science!!

One of my favorite lego sets
The Coast Guard Helicopter is a real step forward compared to other more traditional lego helicopter sets. This set is large (2 minifigs can sit side-by-side in the cockpit) but more importantly it is life-like. If you compare this model to the Coast Guard Sea Stallion heavy helicopters you will immediately see the resemblance. Also, despite its imposing size this vehicle is much more durable than other sets I have built in the past. I really love this helicopter.

Comes with a very realistic looking life raft with sailor as well as a diver and two pilots.

Watch Case Wrench
I was getting tired of using needle-nose pliers to get the backs off my watches, so this was the perfect product for me. It was mailed quickly and is as described. I would buy from this company again.

Excellent value for watch lovers!
I used to take all my watches to my Clock doctor. Even though he never charged me for battery replacement, the trip was generally a chore although I miss the visits. This item allows you to do battery service at home with very little hassle. Just take your time and make sure you have the pins lined up and snug to outer case grooves. Bravo!

Decent tool fo the price
This is a decent tool and a very low price. It's obviously not a high-precision device, but used carefully can get the job done. I stress "carefully". If the tool is not adjusted to exactly fit your watch's cover plate, you're almost certainly risking serious scratches on the cover.

The unit I received was only "OK" Both of the adjustments worked smoothly, but one of the pin sockets did not contain a detent ball, so that pin was loose and wobbly. One of the other detent balls was stuck and I had to move it with a screwdriver before the pin could be fully inserted. I put a couple of layers of transparent tape on the pin base and that cured the "loose pin" problem.

However, the wood case is very nice. :-)

Cute set
This is a cute train set and my son likes putting the pieces together. My son just got this for his 2nd birthday and likes playing with it. At 2 though he doesn't quite have the skill yet to keep the train on the track all the time and gets frustrated by this. I think an older child would have better control, thus not an issue. He's able to put the track together so that is a plus.

wonderful fun!!
This is the most wonderful thing ever!! My 2 yr old son just adores it, he sits and plays with it for hours.. He doesn't yet grasp how to put the pieces(i.e. train. station, etc.) but he loves taking the track apart and putting it back together!! And that is very good since my 1 yr old daughter doesn't think it belongs together! He is putting it back together as fast as she is breaking it! (very durable as well!) After reading some other reviews I thought there was goingo tbe virtually no track to play on, but there was much more thenm I was expecting! It is a great toy and we all love it!

Fragile and weak plastic structure
Out of the box and ready to fly? If you like going in one direction. It is adjustable but there is another trick that cost you more time. Any impact against the rear rotor and the mainshaft will snap right after the bolt assembly. This was a mistake from the beginning. I now buy pre tested from the Factory helicopters with aluminum frames and landing pads. It is well worth spending an additional [...] dollars to have a quality helicopter that flies correctly right out of the box.

This is a training chopper
This chopper is higher quality than expected. However you really cant steer it but it is great for getting the basics down. It can go up really high, but other than that its all about keeping it stable. You really cant expect alot for under $[...]. if you want one you can steer make sure its at least 4 channel device. this is my third chopper, and this one is the best for the price, the others were steerable, but 2 times the price at least. This is also a outdoor chopper, and will not work in wind. I rate it high because of its construction, and power, it is a great traning tool to teach you how to keep a chopper stable instead of spending a couple hundred on a chopper and breaking it.

It is only 40 bucks but......
Can't beat it for 40 bucks...3 hrs of charge for abotu 7 min. Goes up and thats about it. Ive crashed it alot but still goes. I do have alot of fun with it, but there is no REAL control, you basically just play keep up and try to not crash it.

An Nice Piece For The Bat-Fan Of The '60s
Although this Hot Wheels diecast is nowhere near as accurate as it's companion piece, the 1:50 scale 1966 TV Batmobile, it's still a nice little replica. Informed sources claim that it's based on the old 60's Aurora model kit, scaled down, and a visual comparison of the two does show several matching details.

To be truthful, the toy should more accurately be described as 1:30 scale, as it is larger in comparison to the Batmobile than an actual 1:50 scale toy would be, but if it was in scale to the car, it would be tiny.

While some shapes and proportions are a bit off, it's still a nice looking piece that represents the bike seen in the 1966 movie, and most of the television series, pretty well ( this design was actually the second used - in an early episode there was a far more generic looking cycle, used only once ).

Robin's sidecar go-kart is included and is held in the package by a piece of monofilament, but have no fear; once the filament is removed, the kart can be secured in place in the sidecar on a small post.

Despite it's size, this is more of a display item for the adult collector, rather than a toy for a modern child. While the bike and go-kart do roll, the steering is fixed, and a child would probably be less than enthused about playing with it (especially since there are no accompanying figures of Batman and Robin.

Still for the adult Batman fan, it's a nice little replica that will look very attractive sitting on a shelf or desk.

My 10 yr. old son is a huge fan! You can't go wrong with Bionicles-very interesting and imaginitive play.
My son absolutely loves Bionicles! This was for his 10th birthday and he has been "hooked" on them for at least 2 years, so it has not been a short lived fad. Yes, they look a little creepy, but when you understand the story line and the character, it's not so creepy anymore! I'm a Christian parent who does watch out for those toys and characters that seem demonic but I have not found these toys to be a concern.

Great Purchase
My 5 year old son has recently become enthralled with Bionicles. This particular purchase was just the right incentive for him. He was able to put most of it together himself. The little ship this bionicle rides on was a bit harder and he asked for help with that, but I was pleased at how his excitement for this toy helps him figure out the instructions and accurately build things. Of course, it does come apart, but for my son that is part of the fun. He likes to switch the weapons and masks around and has a great time mixing the bionicles up. This is a toy I would buy again.

Great for what it is
This kit is a great first step for people who want to start designing their first rockets without instructions. It's widely avialable for $40 online and has enough parts to put together about 5 rockets. If you look at what you get for $8 a rocket I think you'll find this kit is priced well. If you are truly an advanced rocket builder you will want to go another route, but this works well for starting designers.

Not what it once was
There was a time when I was a kid when the Estes Designers Special was the scratchbuilders dream. Unfortunately, time has passed and things have changed, and the once sought after Special has become something of a junkmans special. Estes includes some cool items in the set, (mine had the transition for an Astron Avenger,) but for the most part they pack it with stuff that they're having trouble moving elsewhere. A grab bag would be a cool idea, but at this price I expect something better than a garbage skow.

Inspires Learning
This is a great educational "toy." The book has so many models to build, each illustrating a different concept. The color coding of the parts and their durability and ease of use are brilliant. This set inspires my 10 year old son to build other inventions. Hours of focus and learning!

My son first started with the Snap Circuits Jr and now loves the Snap Circuits SC-300. Snap Circuits are far superior to other electronic kits. Color coding of parts and modular building on a platform make the Snap Circuits sets immediately accessible to the child (and even adults!) and allow independence right away! The book gives projects in increasing difficulty. Just an amazing set!

Educational and fun....what a parent likes
My son loves it. He is in middle school, but this is his first exposure to electronics. I wished they had a little more explanation about certain components and what they do and what their purpose is. Luckily I was able to explain but not all parents will be.

Great beginner radio controlled plane
As noted by all the other reviewers, the Super Cub is a great plane for beginners and novices. It's durable and has a large 480 size electric motor and propeller. See the other reviews for all the details.
It doesn't include the newer technology brushless motor or Li-Po battery though.

What no one mentioned however is that anyone thinking this kit contains EVERYTHING a beginner needs to "teach yourself to fly" is in for considerable frustration and expense. The included manual gives only rudimentary flying instructions and the CD is basically good just for preparing the plane for flight. Without the help of someone experienced in flying a radio controlled plane, it is virtually impossible for a novice to fly any R/C plane without subsequent crashes and even possible complete loss of the plane.
Successfully flying this or any R/C plane requires significant training, skill, and quick reflexes as well as considerable open space (something like 20 acres or more), smooth takeoff runway (we're talking golf green or better), and decent landing area. In some ways learning to fly an R/C is more difficult than a real airplane since your view is third person, outside, and the plane's movements can be very quick and erratic.
Thinking a 12 year old can just be let loose with this kit and somehow learn to fly is naive at best. The promotional material with this kit is just not accurate.

With those precautions in mind, beginners can have realistic expectations as well as a lot of fun with this Super Cub learning to fly.

Best Trainer, PERIOD.
If you are thinking about getting a trainer. Get this one. It's the best! Nearly indestructible, super easy and cheap to fix, fun to fly, big in size and fun too!

Within an hour I was doing loops and touch and gos. The anti-crash technology really does work, you just need enough altitude for it to have time to do it's job. It saved me many times. The control surfaces can be adjusted for more aggressive handling and tricks. It looks and sounds goods flying too. It takes off from smooth surfaces nicely and solo hand launches are very easy and risk free. It climbs well, and glides nicely too.

The plane itself does incredibly well with all kinds of terrible landings, crash landings and roll overs. The body and wings easily survived a hard nose dive into the ground! I flew it hard into a big evergreen tree, with the motor running full bore as it chopped it's way down to the ground, and it was fine except the motor. You can beat the heck out of this plane and keep it in the air for minimal repair costs. However, the motor does not do well hitting things hard and will be damaged from a straight on impact objects. But as motors are only $10.50 and are easily replaced, it is not really a big deal. Keep a spare one on hand. A new motor is like two Starbucks mochas, and the motor will last longer and bring more fun than the mochas! All parts for this plane are super cheap, available at my local store or on line and easy to swap out. This is perhaps the best part. You can wreck it time and again and won't have to pay a lot to restore it to flying condition.

It's made of foam which you might think is cheap. But the truth is that this is the best material for a trainer. It is strong and will easily tolerate abuse that balsa plains would disintegrate from. Why destroy all your hard work when you can learn to fly relaxed knowing a bad crash is easily recovered from for $10 to $30. Many crashes will result in no damage at all - it just depends on what part hit what surface. The motor is the most fragile part in my experience.

For $160, it's a great value.

What else to get with it? You'll probably want a total of 3 batteries and two 12v chargers so that you can fly without having to stop flying waiting for charges to finish up. Fly one battery and be charging two at the same time. Buy a few spare props, motor and cowl as you'll certainly damage them if you're new at this. I would also put bigger wheels on it so it can roll on rough grass surfaces without nosing into the grass.

The Super Cub is a five star plane, and I'm a picky guy who's demanding. If I am satisfied, it means it is really good!

Best
Great RC airplane. I had no previous experience and flew it with 10 mph wind the second day until battery ran out. If inexperience like me buy extra propellers.

5-yr old son loves this!
My 5-yr old loves this boat! He and his dad have a lot of fun using it at a pretty big pond at one of our village parks. The only down-side is the actual amount of time it can be used on one charge (about 10-15 minutes). I think this was mentioned by another reviewer, so it was nice to at least know this ahead of time.

Fast is an understatement!
This boat is fast! I purchased it for my 9 year old son for Christmas and he loves it. The boat is extremely fast, with nice sharp turns, responds to the controller immediately. Highly recommend this RC boat. Durable too, as one time the propellers got caught in some plastic netting, we got it free and nothing was broken or damaged. Seller is excellent to deal with. Only negative on this boat: the battery. Battery loses charge each time you use it and it only gives you about 30 minutes play time before it runs low.

Fun Little Boat
This is a very fun, fast little boat. I am enjoying it very much. Easy to put together (battery pack, install the antenna mast (a plastic tube), and screw in the antenna on the sending unit.) It goes fast and is easy to control.

Controls are very simple, really just two switches: left engine one/off and right engine on/off. The control box has: go, forward on the left control and right or left turn on the right control. The left control switches both engine to full on (no throttle control, just full-on/off) and the right control shuts off one engine or the other (left or right), to turn. It turns quite tightly (without a rudder.) But by "pulsing" the left or right control, you can make the boat execute broader turns. It gets up and planes almost instantly. It's quite fast. At the beginning of a full charge, it might be doing the advertised 25 mph. 15 mph is more like it most the time.

The good: Price! Runs well, easy to use, seems to have good RF range, fast, tough hull, ships very little water. Be sure to pour out the water and leave it open to dry out between runs.

The negative: Short battery life. I'd guess I'm getting 15 minutes of operation with a full charge. It takes about 5 hours to charge. I have been looking for spare battery packs and couldn't find any. I ended up buying parts and I will be making my own battery packs (try BatterySpace.com and Radical RC online.) Runs on a set of 6 standard "Sub C" cells, wired in series, with a shrink wrap around it and a connector used for Tamiya RC cars. The RC hand unit requires 8 AA cells.

This is the best Estes
Yesterday was a sad day. A rocket eating tree took my Estes Big Daddy and would not give it back. This has always been one of my favorite rockets, which is why I am here ordering another one. This rocket flies well and is truly exciting to launch. As a second or third kit project, this is the one to get when you are ready to move up to something a little bigger. (I do NOT recommend the Executioner, Estes' other big rocket, as it is a little too much rocket for the recommended Estes engines, and tends to fly like a drunken pig. Now for a cool modification ... if you REALLY want to turn heads at the next club launch, get the Aerotech RMS 24/40 hobby line reloadable hardware. Then, load it with an E18-4. There are two changes you MUST make to the rocket for this to work well. First, add 20 grams of weight to the tip of the nose cone (epoxy and ball bearings work well). Second, you can't use the Estes paper wadding. Get yourself a Nomex flame protector or something similar. It is important to note that once you make these changes, you can NOT go back to Estes engines ... the rocket is now too heavy for them.

This is what I was flying when the tree got my Big Daddy. And I have to tell you, even the old hands at the launch were going 'What the %&!# was that" when it took off.

Where Was This Beauty in 1966?
Hot Wheels has done it again. This little 4 inch beauty captures the contours and details of the original Batmobile, not perfectly - but better than any other toy company has before.

There are a few inaccuracies. For example; the 'antennas' beside the central beacon flare out like wings rather than standing straight up and down as they should, and the 'rocket tubes' just ahead of the trunk on the car are severely shortened ( although I believe this was done for child safety reasons ). Also the bat emblems on the doors are out of scale, and the gold cross shaped 'laser/radar antenna' on the hood is a little big. But considering all the details they got right ( down to the tiny "Batphone" in the cockpit ), and the fact that the overall shape is spot on, I can live with the minor flaws.

This toy, along with the 1:50 scale Batcycle, and the fantastic 1:18 scale Batmobile - all from Hot Wheels - are a '60's Batman fan's dream come true.

Great for electronics work
I have used this product for 5+ years and owned my own for 2+ and have not had any problems with it. It works great for holding anything from XLR's to 1/4" jacks to circuit boards that I'm drilling/soldering. It clamps fine, even after years of use and is adjustable to almost any angle. If you are soldering on it, you want to be careful not to touch the iron directly to the jaws for too long since they are a type of plastic, but it has no problem holding 1/4" jacks that are 200+ degF. I would recommend this for anyone doing work on cables or small circuit boards.

Speed Racer envy
My children are having fun with this toy.
We have about 100 small cars and the kids are running them to find the fastest. So far it's down to a weird bug car and a Shelby.
We'll see how long it lasts but it seems to be strong enough for my 5 kids.
It took over two months to get it from Amazon but it's nice to see the kids smiles.

Hours of Fun
I bought this toy primarily for my nephew(3yrs) and i found myself playing with this thing for hours, he loves it, i love it, its fun, hes working on hand-eye coordination putting the Hotwheels in, setting up the numbers, and pushing the lever. It uses a good chunk of space but folds up neatly. A good design feature is that if the fold snap or break, they can easily be snapped back into place, so the toy is almost indestructable.

simple design works well
the most complicated thing about this track is the way it folds up for travel and storage, and that isn't hard to figure out. But simple is often underrated. I don't think that any number of twists and turns and gadgets and doo dads can beat the thrill of making your little cars go really fast. We bought this for our three year old son and had it out and racing only three minutes after we got home with it. He can't set up the track by himself (from the storage position) but he can put the cars on, reset the flags and start the cars himself. But I really enjoy playing with him, too. this set is supposed to be linkable with other hotwheels race sets, so it is expandable. I am really glad we chose this!

Revell Big Scale V8 is difficult but a lot of fun and a good learning project
Good product, a little more time consuming than previously thought. Need to get epoxy cement instead of regular model cement. A lot of fun though and a really good learning experience. A great way to learn how engines work.

It was too hard for my son (9) to do it himself. But it was a great father-son project.

Buyer beware.
I imagined that this would be a good father/son project. However, I had to build most of it alone. If you appreciate precision fit, you won't find it in this kit. Epoxy is not fun to work with. Cementing little metal nuts to plastic and then finding later that the holes don't line up can be extremely frustrating. Eventually, I got it together. It works, looks impressive, etc. However,this is not the ideal project to create a bonding experience between father and son...unless you have some M-80's, lighter fluid, or a sledge hammer.

A great product
I bought this submarine for my nephew's 5th birthday, and he loved it! He and my brother (his Dad) tried it out in the bathtub, and it maneuvered perfectly - diving, turning, surfacing. They then took it on their lake vacation and it worked great there too! My brother was so impressed, he declared it the best gift of the party, and HE wants one for HIS birthday, so the two of them can play together!!! (Boys will be boys, I guess!)

Only <$50 submarine I've found that really works
I bought one last summer and was pleased with it. As with all toys, eventually the novelty wears off. So I just dig it out when I have company (nieces, nephews) but they always get a kick out of it. Pros: dives reliably (beware of cheaper subs that require you to manually tweak the motors to accomplish diving), surfaces reliably (provided your batteries aren't dead and you didn't install the optional weights), steers reliably, is very easy to use, has a horizontal range of at least 24' (as big as my pool), uses four inexpensive AA batteries and one 9 volt. Cons: Controller should never be submerged (use it from the deck only), control is reportedly erratic at depths greater than 3.5 ft, red headlight is too dim to be useful, and it generally requires an adult to install new batteries because the cover is difficult to remove. Warning: never use this in any pool that is not clear and accessible: there will be occasions on which you will need to manually retrieve the sub from the bottom of the pool.

A great new twist to a kid's classic project
I ordered this for my son. We recieved the kit farly quickly and the ants were easy to order. Only one ant was dead out of like 20 some so that was good. The blue gel is great to watch because you can see everything and allows kids to see and touch and even drop it sometimes without messing up there tunnels. Also the ants feed of the gel so that saves from the hassle of feeding them. Great product would recommend for anyone looking for a great and interactive ant farm for young ones.

I am truly impressed!
I kind of bought this on a whim in December knowing it would probably be months before the weather was warm enough to ship ants. I was thrilled when they showed up in mid-January and only one was dead (although they looked dead and it took a few minutes for them to warm up and get moving again). It is now a month later and I haven't lost another ant. They have tunneled like mad and are extremely interesting to watch. They work together creating tunnels and rearranging the gel pieces they have cut out. I never imagined an ant farm could be this fun. The manufacturer's description is dead on. Everything they say will happen does. I'm 100% satisfied with this product.

fun for kids and adults to watch
This is a great product. It is actually fascinating. My 5yr old son and my 40yr old brother both received this as a gift. They both thoroughly enjoyed watching the working ants- and they work fast. My son didn't want to go to school because he didn't want to miss anything. Once the ants are poured into the container, no work or maintenance is necessary.

As far as ordering ants, you have to be careful. If you order during a warm season in Arizona or a cold season in another state, they will most likely arrive dead. And make sure you check your mailbox every day so they don't sit in your box for an extra 24 hours. My first batch arrived dead, and getting hold of the company was tricky. They never responded to my email or my voicemail. Finally, when I called early in the morning and spoke to a real person, they were more than happy to send out a new set of ants.

alot of fun but work on the quality revell
alot of fun but the quality overall with revell models is terrible, compared to tamiya, for example. you do pay alot less with revell but it is very much reflected in the product when you open the box. things like more flash, parts not mated with each other well, like the two piece hull of this battleship; the plastic was bowed and with a gap so wide i can slip two house keys pressed flat together into it. i also noticed the detail on the parts themselves are not as good compared to others. so just remember the old adage "You get what you pay for" when you consider revell and you wont be surprised or disappointed.

Great Rocket Version Replica Of The Fastest Jet
I built this rocket when I was a kid. I learned how to build rockets in the 5th grade. I recently purchased it and flew it a bunch of times, unfortunately, like many rockets, it got away with the C6-5 engine. I'm waiting for another one I recently ordered and I probably won't fly it. This is my second favorite Estes Rocket after my Orbital Transport. I wish someone would develop a model rocket based on the Valkyrie another cool jet from the past. If in NYC they have the real one purched on the deck of the USS Intrepid Museum on the West Side.

A great value for the money, even better with a modification.
I have owned many Pro R/C cars (ie. Duratrax, Traxxis, Tamaya, etc). Now that my son is interested (3 yrs old), I wanted a "toy" R/C car for him knowing that it would mostly be hitting curves. That said, I wanted something that could drive on grass and still be fun to use for me when I'm with him.

This is the R/C car I ended up with, and boy does it fit the ticket!
Here's my pro's and con's:

PROS:
(1) Fully independent front suspension with spring shocks. No, they are not oil dampened but they WORK compared to most toy R/C's that have NO suspension! The rear suspension has the same shocks but is simplified, you have a solid rear axle; it works well enough.
(2) Working rear differential! Just like the pro cars, if one wheel has no traction, the other gets all the torque.
(3) Pneumatic tires. Just like the pro cars, the tires are soft and flexible (not hard like most toy cars).
(4) If you remove the AA battery adapter, you can purchase any 8-cell AA NiCad or NiMh pack. Performance doubles. I purchased a 1600mAh NiMh pack from Radioshack and have yet to run it down after 45 minutes!
(5) Indestructable. I can't tell you how many curbs and jumps we've done. Only scratches on the outer shell.
(6) FOUR forward speeds and one reverse. Most toy cars that 1/1.

CONS:
(1) Steering is not proportional. That is, you only have FULL left and FULL right. All toy cars are this way though.
(2) RANGE! Range is horrible. The transmitter is powered by only two AA batteries. I originally got under 20 ft without a modification I describe below.

TRANSMITTER MODIFICATION FOR ADDITIONAL RANGE

This simple mod involves replacing the 2xAA batteries with a standard 9Volt battery.
This will void your warranty and you do it at your own risk.
I am able to get over 80ft with this car now by juicing the transmitter up to 9 volts. Here's how:
(1) Remove all the screws from the back of the transmitter.
(2) Pull the rear cover apart.
(3) Pull out the existing AA batter holder and CUT both the red and black wire to remove it.
(4) Solder or wrap a 9V battery connector (the "hat") to the cut wires. You can go to radioshack or cut them off some old electronic item you have.
(5) Put the hole thing back together (don't put the old AA battery holder back in).
(6) Insert new 9V battery. The battery cover will stay in as long as a 9V battery is installed; you'll see what I mean.
(7) You now have double the range!!!!!

Best RC car for the price. Very cool.
We've tried so many non-hobby grade RC vehicles in my son's 10 years of life. From micro to giant sized, 5 or 6 different brands, from $[...] to $[...] (for a giant Hummer). They've all pretty much worked. Some broke after a few uses, some didn't perform as promised (running in dirt, for example) and some just lacked that little something that made it "cool."

This car is awesome. It's sturdy, drives in dirt and over gravel, short-ish grass, jumps curbs with ease, is fast, feels strong, stops on a dime, great remote function, great range. We've run it on regular batteries, rechargeable batteries, and a NiCd battery. For sure, the NiCd is the way to go, though we were impressed even with regular batteries on Christmas day. My son has driven this thing off of ramps at the skate park 6-feet high to the concrete with nothing but superficial scratches. It's filthy from running through gravel and dirt trails and my son just loves it.

Two days after Christmas, my son spent his own allowance to buy the white model of the same car. Trust me, that's unusual. He never spends his money.

I highly recommend this RC vehicle. If you're not wanting to spend $[...] to get a hobby-grade RC vehicle (which he was considering before his started using this car) then you would be making a good choice with this car. Heck, buy one of each and race 'em like we do. Super fun.

This past weekend my son drove this Dune Devil into a drain. It was the end of the world. Anyway, after removing the manhole cover from the drain and recovering the car from 10-feet down, the car covered in yuck (not a sewage drain thankfully), this car still runs. It was dripping wet and got flipped over a few times while trying to hook on to it. It had the NiCd battery in it at the time. Still very happy with it. My son is still enjoying it, as well.

AMAZING Product at a FANTASTIC Price
After receiving a 28-piece microscope kit for Christmas that had a plastic scope that broke within 5 minutes, we were in a dilemma: Our son decided he really wanted a microscope, but we didn't want to get burned again. After much research, a science teacher at my school said she bought this for her child. She said the quality was great and that it does things some of the scopes in her high school lab didn't do. We bought it for our son's birthday and it's a huge hit! It is made of very durable materials, is easy to use, and is an extremely high quality for the price. My sons are 7 and 9 and we've had a blast with it! The fact that it's a duo allows you to view slides and objects they pick up around the house. The were amazed when we put different types of print under it to see the difference. I bought a book that Amazon recommended to go with it, and the box of extra slides they listed, and I see us having hours of educational fun. If you don't get a book of experiments and activities, you might run out of ideas quicker. With the great bargain you're getting on the scope, another $10 on a book isn't a huge deal. We haven't used any of the slide-making tools that came with it, but there's a nice bag of goodies. This is a great product that will allow the family to enjoy together and learn in the process. I seriously see this as something we'll use through high school, and will help immensly when the dreaded science projects start being assigned! Don't spend any more money than this. It's just not necessary! From personal experience, research before buying anything cheaper. You'll be compromising on quality and possibly trying to explain to your child why his Christmas present needs to go in the trash.

Okay for the price
I purchased this as a gift for my 9 year old son. He likes it, and finds it fun exploring the microscopic world. This thing seemed pretty much durable, and could hold up to some beating. I see no good reason for a microscope manufacturer to not put lights on both the top and bottom of a platform, as I find it to be a real necessity to see anything down there. So I thought, it's great that this product has that feature.

The only thing I didn't like about this is that, we can't get the highest magnification to work. I don't know why. I didn't bother that much to figure out what was wrong. My son is pretty much happy with what he can view so far, but we're probably missing a lot for not seeing things on the highest magnification.

good option for younger scientists to be
We bought this item for our 7 year old son. He was excited to receive a "real" microscope. We're still learning about it. Lights are not as bright as we had hoped and read on other reviews. Seems durable. Focus knobs are smooth. Must be careful when adjusting lens up and down. Would recommend for first time microscope users.

Don't Fly to High As most of the other reviewers have said this is a real fun little helicopter to fly. It is quite stable and easy to fly but just a word of caution. Don't try and fly it to high. First my wife and then myself have climbed it to see how high it would fly but if it get to high the motors just stop as if you have turned it of. This results in the inevitable long vertical descent and crash with substantial amounts of damage.
Very good purchase, the kids and I love it! FUN! a little stressful at first but with minimal effort both my self and my son were able to get it to hover 5 feet off the ground and control it. Educational? well... yes it is. The eye-hand coordination of my son (age 12) is a challenge. So for that it has been therapeutic. He has also taken an interest in what makes things fly and has been reading motivated by the RC chopper. Then he is learning about the chopper itself, mechanical, electronics etc... Durability was an issue out of the box. Go visit your local hobby store and buy some upgrades like the aluminum counter balance for the rotor tops. We spent an extra $75 in parts after flying it a few days. Buy extra rotor blades as well. The alternate brand blades we bought seem to hold up much better than the originals, more flexible. Overall, great purchase would do it again.
New Pilot? Start with the CX2 As usual, E-flite makes great products. Plenty of repair parts available!! Enjoy this Heli!!

10 yr old and 8 yr old fighting over it!
I bought this for my 8 year old son to get him interested more in education, logic and science. Little did I know my 10 year old daughter would want to play with this as well. Also, it's been a great for father/son/daughter bonding, as I can put the projects together with them. I don't write reviews often, but when I do, it's for a great product like this. Grandson likes it!
I sent this to my grandson as a birthday present. My son tells me that the kit is of excellent quality and that the two of them enjoyed putting it together. My son reported that the wheels squeaked so, a hint: rub wax onto the axle shafts and points of contact with a candle, then buff with a cloth. Canning wax should also work. Obviously, no petroleum or ANY harmful product should be used.

A great idea for a toy, but lacking in durability
This was an impulse buy for my three year old and it turned out to be a lot of fun.

It's as simple as it looks. It sets up instantly and requires no skill or explanation. Load rocket> Stomp > Cheer!

Two different rocket heads (one with a whistle, one with streamers) give the younger kids a choice on what to launch - which is great.

The rockets have foam heads on them that guarantee that they won't be damaged on crashdown - and they won't injure any little heads they happen to hit.

Two quibbles:

1) There should be more than two rockets.

2) The rockets should be more durable

The foam head and stabilizers fell victim to my son chewing on them by day two (not the product's fault - but worth knowing if you're thinking of buying for younger kids).

The real disappointment is in the rocket tube. Thin walled plastic that is easy to crush. Ours had near-fractures in them by the end of day one.

The launcher is practically bullet-proof, so no complaints there - but if my son trashes the rockets that came with this and still wants more - I'll likely be shopping for a more durable replacement set.

Fun toy however cannot find replacement rockets
This rocket launcher is a lot of fun, however, by the end of the week both of the rockets had been stepped on and broken. Once they crack, they do not fly very well. I have searched all over for replacement rockets, but cannot find where Air Hogs sells them. Very disappointing! I will be ordering the other system w/the foam rockets so maybe they'll last a bit longer!

Kids love it - could have more rockets
This is a fantastic toy for young kids. Simple cheap, lots of fun. But it only has 2 of the foam rockets, so if these are lost or broken the fun could end.

After buying this I noticed Amazon also sells a "stomp rocket ultra" that comes with 4 rockets and the "junior stomp rocket" where you can buy "junior stomp rocket refills". There is also a "jump rocket" that seems to go higher than this one. All of these are also highly rated, so this whole class of toy seems very good.

A great deal for a great product
My daughter received this rock tumbler as a gift and all of my children loved it - the finished product is really impressive if you have kids who like really shiny and very interesting rocks. She used them to make jewelry and she also gave several away as gifts. Yes, it is loud, but I've never known anyone who didn't keep their rock tumbler in the garage, my family included. The fact that it takes a long time to get the finished product is part of the learning experience; there are two stages to the polishing process and kids learn that it takes a lot of polishing to produce such a beautiful rock in the end. The Grand Canyon didn't erode in a day, right?! Give this rock tumbler a try and you won't be sorry!

Rock Tumbler
I read most of the reviews on this page and felt that it was important to note that I purchased this tumbler not for rocks but to tumble small amounts of brass for reloading. I figured at $11 (kind of pissed it went down to $9 right after I purchased it) it was a steal for small amounts of brass. Right now I am using it for 308 brass only and since my rifle is a bolt action I dont intend to shoot tons of it in each sitting. So, I tossed about 20 pieces of once fired in and put in some media. Seems to be doing the job nicely.

Durability: not sure but tumbling brass does not require it to be on nonstop for a month either.

Noise: ok so if you dont like noise this is not for you. Some people compared it to a "rock slide" or "racket". Yes it is noise so I say do not use this in or near any place you want to be quiet. In my case it will soon be going into a remote shead. If this thing was in or near my bedroom I could wake up at any time of night and think the random smack smack smacking was someone breaking into my place.

For $9 to $11 it is what it is, dont forget that.

Not worth it
This comes with its own bag of rocks to tumble, but the assortment is quite lacking. Also, included is only enough "grit" material for one set of rocks.

I Love the As Seen On TV Guys

Don't buy this, it's awful!
As other reviewers have written, this is very cheaply made and very flimsy. The magnifying *plastic* is muddy and when you turn on the lights in the magnifier, they create a weird prism effect that distracts from what you're reading or crafting. I also tried hanging it around my neck like the manufacturers recommend & it gave me a neckache.

In short, please don't waste your money.

SO much fun...and I don't even have a kid
I admit it: I don't even have a child, I'm just a 20-year-old who really enjoys playing with Legos when I'm looking to procrastinate (which is to say, basically all the time...and I highly recommend it!). Having said that, on to the review...

This kit is ideal for those looking for a good assortment of pieces in a variety of colors and shapes, and there's a whole lot of them included as well (but, don't be surprised if you find yourself wanting to expand your collection indefinitely). The other great thing about this kit is that it's basically a "blank canvas" that has you rely on your imagination (rather than a themed set with a movie-tie).

In short, lots of fun!

This was exactly like I expected. You can't find a general mix of legos anywhere. They're all kits. These aren't the small legos either. This will be great for our 3 1/2 year old engineer minded son. We also bought the set of lego people and wheels. I'm sure we'll be adding more soon enough. Great buy...you can't beat it anywhere, even with shipping.

This set of lego's surpassed what I was expecting! There is great building possibility and potential with this set. When you buy similar lego packages it states that you get ... say... 850 pieces. Most of those pieces are the little itty-bitty one (tiny 1/4" square) or two-piece (tiny 1/2" rectangle)lego's that are not that useful for building anything. This product has the bigger bricks so your child can actually BUILD something. I have searched and searched for a product like this and I could not even find it at the LEGO site! If you are looking for free play IE not buying a kit that only builds one thing, this is the one for you! This seller was great too. I had no problems and the order shipped quickly. Would buy from again.

Lego Basic Just Bricks
This large collection of lego bricks is to my mind the "classic collection". Children of all ages (and adults) can build ships, planes, houses -- whatever the mind imagines -- in a variety of colors. The bricks come in a nice sturdy plastic container for convenient storage.

While Lego has gone on to develop a wide range of other products, for those who want a good starter kit and bricks not specific to any particular image or character, this is a great product

Nice that it's just the blocks
I like that this is a package of just Lego bricks, and not all the fancy prefab cars, house, people, etc., that most people think of as Legos nowadays. Personally, I think the more fancy you make the Lego sets, the less they stimulate imagination -- just having geometric blocks and building with those seems like pure creative thought to me.

That being said, it's worth pointing out that these are *small* basic Legos (ie, the connecting dots are the smallest size). Does anyone know where we could find a comparable basic set of the larger-bore size?

this trrain is indead durable. I through it out a window ,actually my baby brother but i pushed his hand,it landed in the grass and left a deep mark and it still is in working condition but it is not recoomended and i live on the sixth floor it is true I even have a picture of the hole. Great beginners kit
This is a great starter kit. I am a 7th grade teacher and needed a launch pad and controller and this kit is actually a better deal than buying them separately...like getting two free rockets. I gave the two rockets to two other staff members and they loved them! Our rocket day went great and everything worked the way it should have.

advice for internationals
OOOOOOOOOOps ,, it was my mistake not reading the discription very well, i am from kuwait and i have account in a world wide delivery company (ARAMAX),, unfortunatly the supplies ( ex. engines ) are not available here in kuwait, well i have bought them from USA but i guess they would not let them get in airplane, or there must be a problem preventing these engines from comming here, therefor i have the rocket model now, my childeren are playing with it like any plastic toy
MY ADVICE for internationals, make sure first that your country has all the supplies you need in order to enjoy the rocket more and more

Great model rocketry starter kit
If you are interested in model rocketry, this is definitely the right place to start. This kit includes everything you need to send you rocket to the heavens, such as a complete launch pad system with launch controller, and two different rockets. The only things you have to supply are plastic cement, white glue, and the engines, which you can purchase at most hobby shops or sometimes your local WalMart. The best part of this kit is the fact that the rockets are two different skill levels so you can determine exactly how involved you wish to get into the model rocketry hobby. The larger "Amazon" rocket is skill level E2X, which only requires glueing a few pieces together and slapping on the decals. The smaller Crossfire ISX is skill level 1, which requires a little bit work to put together and you have to paint it yourself. This set is perfect for both adults looking to get into the hobby and children/teens with the appropriate adult supervision.

Great bang for the buck
Super size makes this a fun product for the grand kids. Their eyes light up immediately. Since I have Radio Control Hobby Cars - Nitro & Battery - this is a very fun toy for them and me too. Considering I pay $ 300.00 and up for hobby cars and trucks, I consider this a great value. Always explain to the grandkids how to operate this and all radio control vechicles properly.

For 80 bucks you can't go wrong
This truck is really big and bad, every dad at the park will want one. It has twin motors(one for front axel and one for rear) that each run off of their own 19.2 volt 600mah ncd battery and each come with their own charger. It will give you a good 20 minutes of fun on a charge but the batteries take about 6-8 hours to charge. It really is fast for how big it is. The tires alone stand 7" high. The steering radius is poor so it will not corner very good at all. But when you slow down you can manuver through anywhere. It does great off road and will even hill climb. It is 4*4. I dont think it is waterproof though. However I drove it around in the rain and through puddles and had no problems. If you can get 90 days of use out this bad boy I think you got your moneys worth.

Did you know that painted ladies (the butterflies, that is) taste with their feet and have 10,000 eyes? The metamorphosis from larva to butterfly takes about three weeks from when you receive the caterpillar larvae (which arrive in a small container with all the nutrients they need). Butterfly habitat - great teaching aid
My wife is a first grade teacher. She and her class were thrilled with this product as it was used during their section on insects and butterflies. They placed caterpillars inside and let them crystallize and transform into butterflies. The product worked great!

Excellent educational toy
We bought this for our 8 yr. old granddaughter and it ended up being a whole family educational experience. All the butterflies hatched and she informed me this morning that she has 1 male and the rest are females. She was SO excited. We also purchased "From Caterpillar to Butterfly (Let's-Read-and-Find-Out Science, Stage 1" Would HIGHLY recommend purchasing both!
